ISREV XV Ottawa, 2006 - Book published - 14th July 2009

The book arising from this Session, Religious Education in a World of Religious Diversity, edited by Wilna A.J. Meijer, Siebren Miedema, and Alma Lanser-van der Velde, has now been published. Details are on the Publications page.

ISREV XVII Ottawa, 2010 - Keynote speakers appointed - 17th February 2009

The Program Committee is pleased to announce that the following members have agreed to present the five plenary lectures at the 2010 Session. They will be on the theme ‘Religious Education and Freedom of Religion and Belief’.
Dr. James Conroy, Professor of Religious and Philosophical Education, University of Glasgow, Scotland.
Dr. Kath Engebretson, Associate Professor, Australian Catholic University, St Patrick’s Campus, Victoria.
Dr. Liam Gearon, Professor of Lifelong Learning and Participative Pedagogy, University of Plymouth, England.
Dr. Dzintra Iliško, Lecturer, Daugavpils University, Latvia.
Dr. Wolfram Weisse, Professor of Religious Education and Ecumenical Theology, University of Hamburg, Germany.

ISREV XVI Ankara, Turkey, 2008 - Some Special Occasions

27th July 2008: Turkish Government Minister gives opening address

On Sunday evening, after the Seminar's opening dinner at the Hotel Etap Altinel, the Seminar
was addressed by the Minister of State for Religion, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sait Yazıcıoğlu.

28th July 2008: Rector of Ankara University welcomes ISREV

On Monday evening, the entire Seminar was welcomed to Ankara University by its Rector,
Prof. Dr. Nusret Aras (on right in photo above), and entertained to a buffet supper in the grounds.

29th July 2008: Religious Leader of Turkish Muslims welcomes ISREV

On Tuesday evening, the Trustees of ISREV were received by the President of Religious Affairs,
Prof. Dr. Ali Bardakoğlu; following which a reception and dinner were provided for the whole Seminar.

The Presidency of Religious Affairs
is a public institution, which states that its duties include "the administration of affairs regarding religious beliefs, worship, moral principles, places of worship in Islam and illuminate the public about religion".
